This new strand will see us deliver monthly arts work within The Venue at The Curve Library in central Slough from September ‘22 – March ‘23. Programmed by members of our Community Programming Group we’re looking to bring together a brilliant mix of arts events, workshops and shows to present for audiences and participants in Slough.
What are we looking for?
- Work that is suitable for all ages. It could be specific for young people, children, families or adults. We’ll be programming a mix of work to ensure everyone is catered for across the programme.
- Inspiring and fun work to get members of the Slough community engaged!
- Work that is diverse. We want to ensure the work programmed represents the people of Slough.
- Shows or activities that can fit within The Venue at The Curve or within one of the Meeting Rooms.
- We’ll be prioritising work that has a connection with Slough. This could be thematically or by the people who make it.
- Preexisting performances, shows or workshops. We’re keen to not define too much what we’re looking for but ideally the work will be preexisting – this is not a commission opportunity – and can easily be programmed into The Curve.
What will you get?
- A fixed fee for the presentation of the work/activity.
- Promotion from HOME Slough including in our website, newsletter and social media. We’ll also be creating a dedicated marketing and PR strategy for this programme.
- An opportunity to present work in Slough and connect with a diverse range of communities.
How do I apply?
If you have a show, performance or workshop idea that you feel will work well within the WOW! Slough programme please see below for how to apply.
Fill out the application form here.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us on [email protected] or look at the FAQs below.
What’s the process for assessing an application?
Members of our Community Programming Group will sit on a programming panel to determine what work is programmed as part of WOW! Slough. The panel will meet and read through all applications that are submitted and determine what is best suited to Slough and its communities.
Applications are open until 10am 9 August and we’ll be aiming to let everyone know W/C 15 August.

A mixed arts programme. Everything from poetry nights, theatre shows, workshops, dancing or music. Something that has a wide appeal for all ages. We might programme to specific ages (eg. Family, adult, young people) but will ultimately try to find a balanced programme across WOW! Slough
-
We’re keen to be programming work in the Curve each month on a Saturday. This will form a pattern eg. Last Saturday of every month, depending on availability.
-
We’re looking for a mixture of timings on events, but we imagine the majority of work will be between 1-2 hours if a performance or workshop.
-
Yes. We’ll prioritise work that does have a connection, but we recognise that not everyone does. Providing you are keen to build a relationship with Slough communities and audiences, we’re happy!
-
Yes. Although by being programmed again we’d want to see how the work has developed or reaching a new audience.

You can find the full tech spec of The Venue here.
-
Yes. HOME Slough will be providing marketing support as part of WOW! Slough. This includes being in our newsletter, social media and website as a starting point. We’ll also be putting together a comprehensive marketing strategy to support the programme of work as a whole.

We have a sliding scale of fees we’ll be offering depending on what the project/show/event is. These will all be industry standard fees and will reflect the time and quality of the work. As HOME Slough is funded by Arts Council England, we adhere to ensuring all artists, companies and individuals are paid fairly for their work.
