Do you have a creative idea or project that could make Slough better?
HOME Slough wants to hear from you! We are accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individuals or groups who have ideas for small creative projects that will help make Slough a better place. We will consider projects that will take place in Slough and are about Slough.
We are looking for projects that will meet at least one or more of these criteria:
- Involve Slough local communities, increasing and reaching new audiences for HOME Slough
- Celebrate Slough cultural diversity and those who live, work or study in Slough
- Have a legacy and are sustainable
- Have an accessible output
- Add vibrancy to HOME Slough programme
- Respond to the theme: Black History Month, Slough Stories or LOVE Slough
- Will work with Covid-19 restrictions
Black History Month
In October HOME Slough will support the development of events and activities for Black History Month. The events and activities will focus on the achievements and stories of those Black people who have lived, loved and worked in Slough. Celebrating the impact of the Black community in Slough and telling the often untold and untaught stories of the Black community in Britain. We want to show how Black History is everyone’s history and we want to explore the everyday heroes who can inspire and empower young people.
Following on from Black History Month the programme will take the theme of untold stories and explore the ideas of Slough as a place of ingenuity, creativity and uncovering all the hidden stories of greatness. Throughout November and December HOME Slough will support a number of projects that will help different community groups in Slough tell their stories.
In February we will begin the final part of our programme called Love Slough. This will celebrate all that is to be loved about Slough and what it gives communities. A number of “beacons” will appear across Slough to bring people together to share their love for Slough. The beacons could be anything from a light, a festival, a performance or a sculpture. They might all be different but will be linked together through Love Slough.
So be brave, take a risk, and submit your Expression of Interest! We would like to hear from the wider community and all types of creative activities, exhibitions, workshops and performances across theatre, film, dance, music, poetry, visual art etc.
Please use this form to submit your Expression of Interest. Thank you!
