LOVE SLOUGH FESTIVAL LAUNCHES MARCH 2022

HOME Slough presents the LOVE Slough Festival, a celebration of all that there is to love about Slough and its communities.

LOVE Slough will take place in March 2022 across the town – spilling onto the High Street, into shop windows, community centres, the libraries and the parks of Slough.

It celebrates the diversity and joy of living and working in Slough. We’re working with a number of local organisations, community groups and artists to deliver an exciting mix of events, workshops and happenings around the town.

This is an ambitious project designed with the community for the community, and features a diverse range of artforms – knitting, drumming, spoken word, dancing and so much more.

Starting on 8 March, the Festival will run for 3 weeks. It will be made up of over 20 different events and includes:

  • Hi-Vis, a travelling sound installation brings declarations of love to all corners of the town by Milk Presents.
  • Pioneering Town Festival celebrates Slough as a place of innovation – past, present and future.
  • Herschel Remixed a performance by the Dionysus Ensemble, local musicians and schoolchildren of William Herschel’s unrecorded and reimagined music.
  • Love Slough Fine Arts Festival asks artists to respond to the theme of “Love Slough”.
  • The Dance WE Made by Casson & Friends invites the public to choreograph professional dancers to create a unique new dance piece.
  • Happy Space sees a day of activities and performances to lift the spirits and make everyone smile on World Happiness Day.
  • Grove Park Camp at the Curve Gallery explores the history of the Grove Park Camp where displaced Polish soldiers and their families were resettled after World War 2.
  • Drumming Extravaganza will create a drum piece that will then be paraded through the heart of Slough in partnership with Slough Music Service.

For full details, see our LOVE Slough page.

“LOVE Slough is a real celebration of the town. We’re delighted to be bringing together so many exciting events as part of the Festival and to be working with so many talented local people. It will be a fitting end to this phase of our work.”
