Latest news from Home Slough

Goodbye to our James!

We are sad to announce that James Gough, our Programme Lead, is leaving HOME Slough in September.

James joined in spring 2021, and together with Ruth (our Project Lead), he ensured HOME Slough secured 3 years of Arts Council England funding and has led us through an exciting but challenging 16 months.

He is passionate that access to culture is a right for every one of us. So a key part of his work has been ensuring we more deeply engaged all of the town’s communities. For example, this can be seen in how our Community Programming Group (CPG) is now more central to how we plan what we do.

He’s also worked with Jake (our Creative Producer) and the CPG to put in place a brilliant programme of arts and culture that has engaged and entertained thousands.

James leaves us to pursue a number of exciting new opportunities. However, he will be returning to co-host our Ideas Space in October, where we are looking for people to come and shape LOVE Slough 2023.

And although James leaves us, he is replaced by Hannah who is leading us into the next phase of the project.

“James has been pivotal in re-energising HOME Slough and putting it on a secure footing. His passion and focus will be much missed. But we are lucky to have the perfect replacement in Hannah to take us to the next level.”
Ruth Melville, Project Lead

“Working for HOME Slough has been a pleasure and a challenge – an amazing experience. Thanks to everyone who helped, we have had some great successes and its good to know the programme is in great shape with good people to continue to make a real difference - to change lives and make the town a better place for everyone… Slough will always be a special place for me now.”
James Gough
