Story Circle Slough

Story Circle Slough is an interactive hour of storytelling. Open to everyone and facilitated by Abhi Arumbakkam, come, share your story and listen to others tell theirs.

In the course of the relaxed hour, you will be guided and supported to tell your story on a specific theme. Share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

According to Age UK, the number of over-50s experiencing loneliness is set to reach two million by 2025/6. This compares to around 1.4 million in 2016/7 – a 49% increase in 10 years!

Story Circle Slough is an attempt to challenge loneliness through the medium of storytelling. It is a chance to share and to listen to each other’s stories. To feel a little more connected to each other. To realise the common humanity that connects us. By bearing witness to each other’s narratives, we give the stories another lease of life.

Company/Artist Biography:

Abhi Arumbakkam is a multidisciplinary creative practitioner. She holds a Fellowship from Farnham Maltings and in 2020, she graduated with distinction with a Master’s degree in documentary. Abhi works part-time at Slough-based Resource Productions CIC as Project Manager managing an arts project whilst simultaneously developing her creative practice.
